The operation resulted in the killing of nine militants and the destruction of key equipment used in the manufacture of explosive devices.
The first phase of the operation took place in the Kunyo Barrow area, where forces targeted a militant facility equipped with large engines used to produce mines and explosives.
Six engines were destroyed, and six militants were killed, including their leader Abikar Nur, who was responsible for engines and vehicles, and Abdifitaah Mohamed Hassan, the group’s chief mechanic for manufacturing explosive vehicles.
In a separate operation in the Tugarey area within the same region, security forces targeted militants hiding in a forested location. Three militants were killed, and the remaining fighters were dispersed, significantly disrupting the group’s organization.
The coordinated operations have weakened the group’s capabilities, particularly in the production of improvised explosive devices used to target civilians and security forces.
