Somalia’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Abdulkadir Hashi, officially presented his credentials to His Majesty King Charles III during a formal ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

Reflecting on the occasion, Ambassador Hashi described it as a “full-circle moment,” recalling his early days in diplomacy when, in 1985, he accompanied the late Ambassador Salah Ali to the same palace as a young diplomat.
This nostalgic return to the historic venue underscores both his personal journey and the enduring ties between Somalia and the United Kingdom.
Dr Hashi is a political veteran who served as second secratery at the Somali embassy in Canada and first secretary at the Somali Ambassy in UK in the 1980s.

On 24 June Hashi was appointed the new Minister of education of Somalia.
