Somali PM meets Unicef delegation

Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre met Wednesday with a delegation from the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef), headed by the Regional Director for East and Southern Africa of Unicef Mohamed Fall.

According to the Somali National News Agency, the Prime Minister and the Unicef delegation discussed important issues regarding the charitable activities of the organisation and the promotion of humanitarian aid and support provided by the organisation to the people, especially Somali children.
During the meeting,

Barre thanked the Unicef officials for the humanitarian support that the organisation provides in the care of Somali children, urging them to increase their efforts towards finding a lasting solution to the existing problems.
In turn, the Regional Director for East and Southern Africa of Unicef affirmed that the agency is committed to strengthening the cooperation and relationship it has with the Somali government, in order to improve the safety and the health of the Somali children, and to support them in adapting to climate change and its effects on Somalia.
