The historic day is the finale of the national mourning period, and the climax of the biggest security operation the UK has ever seen, surpassing the Platinum Jubilee and 2012 London Olympics.

After the service, the royal family will walk behind the Queen’s coffin as it is carried by the military bearer party to Wellington Arch.

King Charles and the Queen Consort will walk immediately behind the coffin, followed by Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex, and the Prince and Princess of Wales.

George and Charlotte will walk with their parents side-by-side in formation, followed by Prince HarryMeghan Markle and other royal family members.

The hearse will then travel to St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle via the Long Walk, after which a televised committal service will take place in St George’s Chapel at 4pm.
