Senator Renan Calheiros (MDB-AL), the Covid inquiry (CPI) rapporteur, suggested the indictment of 70 people and two companies, for a total of 24 crimes, in his new report delivered this Monday night. In addition to President Jair Bolsonaro, the list includes four ministers, three former ministers, two companies, businessmen and doctors who defended ineffective treatments.

The document was delivered amidst a malaise at the CPI due to the leaking of minutes of the opinion to the press in recent days. Some of the senators, such as the chairman of the commission, Omar Aziz (PSD-AM), disagreed with the points of the opinion. Even so, Renan left them in their most up-to-date version of the text.

Renan suggested that 11 crimes be attributed to the President of the Republic, including aggravated homicide, infraction of preventive sanitary measures, quackery, incitement to crime, forgery of private documents and irregular use of public funds. In addition to these, malfeasance, genocide of indigenous people, crimes against humanity, violation of social rights and incompatibility with dignity and honor and the decorum of office were also listed.
