Grethe Skagen Danielsen (T. H.) worked for refugee services when Bushro Jama came to Hadsel. – A prime example of successful integration. Bushro and man studying and working, and are great resources. She is sentenced to death in their home country. It is incomprehensible that she now risks being sent back, says Skagen Danielsen. – I am very afraid, says Bushro. – We moved around, obviously we had to flee when the bombs fell, she says. Bushro Jama has been told that she will lose the residence permit in Norway, having been resident for six years. – This just goes not possible. Bushro is a star pupil, and a resource for Stokmarknes. And she is sentenced to stoning in her homeland, says study leader on Hadsel VGS department Stokmarknes, Åse Jakobsen.
After six years of residency in Norway have Bushro Jama from Somalia received unexpectedly told that she must leave the country. – Completely incomprehensible, says study leader at Stokmarknes high school Åse Jakobsen. – Bushro has had a residence permit in Norway for six years. I have come to know her through her stay here on Hadsel VGS, where she has been for three years. She has actually only Norwegian exam again until she is finished here with us. She has managed, despite that she has had two children during this period. It is an exceptional achievement and something very few others would clearly says Jakobsen to VOL.

Harrowing letter
November 22nd will Bushro Jama thus take their final exam. Then she has her matriculation and can continue on further studies. Same date, however, the Somali woman meet his lawyer. It happens after harrowing letters she has received from Immigration. The state agency believes she has provided false information about where in Somalia she is from, and that the basis of residence thus lapsing. – It is believed that she has dialect inconsistencies. Bushro testified against UDI that she has parents who have had to move around, and that is the explanation of vernacular words, says Jakobsen. UDI also believes that Bushro has made comments on Facebook which also suggests that she is not from areas she has stated
– If she greets people from another region in Somalia is like we salute the Swedish acquaintance. When she says “hey bro”, does not mean that she greets his brother. It’s a figure of speech common in Somalia, argues Jakobsen.

– I mean UDI perform searched arguments, which is hard for me to fathom. Norway is a constitutional state. Should we revoke a residence permit must be far more substantial reasons than I think we manage here. These are only vague assumptions, says the headmaster.

Sentenced to stoning

The most compelling argument for that here must take humanitarian considerations is that Bushro Jama Al Shabab will be sentenced to stoning. The reason is that she and her husband Abdinasir Barre married without parental permission.

Even says Bushro that she feels both heart and her life is shattered.
– We’ve coped quite even in Norway. I’ve taken utdaning, and my husband works on Nordlaks. We have not been on NAV and demanded money. Our two children have come after we established ourselves here in Stokmarknes. We have many good friends here. I have not come with wrong information about where I’m from. But it is quite right that we have had to move several times. You may think to yourself: Do you live in Sortland, and it bombed there – so you flee to Stokmarknes. Bombes Stokmarknes, you must Melbu, she says.

Tearfully

Grethe Skagen Danielsen is tearful. She has taken a visit to Stokmarknes VGS to give their support to Bushro. Skagen Danielsen worked in refugee agency when the Somali woman got to stay.
– It is a textbook example of successful integration. Bushro and man are important contributors to our society. They have been on and done everything to come in handy. Bushro took elementary school for two years, received reunion with the man, and still in high school, which she now performs with aplomb.

Norwegians discouraged these days by the State Department to travel to Somalia. Nevertheless, Norwegian authorities send refugees back there.
– It is absolutely incomprehensible, says Skagen Danielsen.

– In shock

Kulli Treimann Skagen and her husband Steinar Skagen rent housing to the Somali couple and their two children Masud (soon 3) and Mohsin (5 mo.)
– We are completely in shock. It is absolutely impossible for us to understand how the government can let this happen. The family has had two children while they have lived in our house. They have done knowing that they have a residence permit and that they should build their future here. The children know no other reality than this. This can not happen, says Kulli Treimann Skagen to VOL.

Ann-Lisbeth Bolsøy working in the nursery where Masud yesterday. Where here he been for over two years.
– He is a delightful children, who have acquired Norwegian. I can not imagine that he will not be allowed to continue in kindergarten, says Bolsøy.

Campus Director Åse Jakobsen says it is not accidental that at the cafeteria at the school are many surrounding the Somali family in the VOL are visiting.
– We will show that Bushro and Abdinasir and kids are not alone. They have a solid network of Stokmarknes, she says.
