A Yemeni military source announced on Friday that al-Amalika brigade of the legitimate national army has taken full control of al-Tahita directorate south of Hodeidah governorate following intense clashes with the Houthi militias.

The clashes resulted in heavy casualties among the Houthis who tried to take cover in the nearby fields in the directorate.

The military source said that the al-Amalika brigade conducted a largescale combing operation in the surrounding areas after taking control of the directorate.

During this operation, tens of Houthi militia members surrendered to the al-Amalika brigade.

This operation comes in the context of a large combing operation by the brigade on the west coast in order to stop the infiltration by the militias in al-Tahita, al-Husseiniya, Zubaid and al-Jarrahi south of the governorate.

The Houthi coup militia tried by this infiltration to obstruct the advancement of the Yemeni legitimate army and allied popular resistance, and planted mines and explosive devices in roads on the coastline.
