It is unluckily that, the most liked musical band for the Somali speaking people has been arrested in Hargeisa airport four musicians in ‘Horn Stars band while returned from Mogadishu after they stage concerts that attracted thousands of music lovers that influenced the popularity of this band to rise beyond any human imagination . Female singer, Khadro Sinimo has told BBC Somali Service that police forces are holding four fellow musicians-Hamda Queen, Niman Hilac, Mohamed Ahmed Bakal, and Abdirahman Aideed Abdi (Oday). The artists attracted hundreds in concerts that focused on the country’s pulsating tunes in Mogadishu. Having inspired by awakening in music industry, Somali artists vie for fans across the country. Deputy Internal Affairs Minister, Ahmed Adare said that the musicians work for Information Ministry, but that is 100 % lie as this band works privately. As we all know that, there is no article in our constitution which prohibits going to Somali capital Mogadishu. We also know that, there are daily regular flights between Hargeisa and Mogadishu and the other as well which continually travelled by business community from both Somaliland and Somalia. Police state is the government that exercises power arbitrarily through the police. The inhabitants of a police state may experience restrictions on their mobility, or on their freedom to express or communicate political or other views, which are subject to police monitoring or enforcement.

Political control may be exerted by means of secret police that operates every part of the country that restricts the movement and political ideology of its citizens and anything which is like by the government is prohibited even that is not written in nation constitution. This government spoil the imagine of Somaliland in the face of the international community. Today, we see all international news headlines that security forces in the breakaway northern Somalia region of Somaliland have arrested four local musicians who performed a music show in the Somali capital this week, local officials said Sunday. The musicians from the Hargeisa-based Horn Stars band were arrested upon their arrival at Egal airport in Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland. Sources close to the police told media that arrests were made after a warrant arrest by the police chief. The band has performed an open air music show in the Somali capital in celebration for the Eid Al-Dha and entertained excited Somalis who alongside musicians danced at the open-air yard as a at the festival described by many as ‘impressive’. The chairman of the band Hassan Saleban Dhuhul popularly known as (Labsalah) has confirmed the arrest of the Musicians Niman Hilac, Abdirahman Oday, Hamda Queen and Mohamed Irro, terming it as ‘deplorable. At present the imagine of Somaliland in the face of the international community running its level since 1991 which is unfortunate situation.

This government made Somaliland like the ex-soviet union and its many satellite states, including like East German which use to had extensive and repressive police and intelligence services KGB which approximately 2.5% of the East German adult population served as informants for the state. Additionally, this government looks like during the period of apartheid of south Africa that use to ban people’s political activities and arrest any citizen who stood against that government policy like the traditional sultans who are behind the bar simply, they oppose the government policy even if it wrong and impose risk to long term or short. They should know that, they can arrest our people illegally, , but they cannot arrest their brains, their minds and their thoughts. We appeal to human rights organizations like Amnesty International and human rights watch to intervene this savage act in order to release the prisoner of conscience in Somaliland like this music band and the traditional sultans who are still behind the bar illegally. We all know that  Amnesty International campaigns for the release of prisoners of conscience people who have been jailed because of their political, religious or other conscientiously-held beliefs, ethnic origin, gender type, colour, language, national or social origin, economic status, birth, sexual orientation or other status, provided that they have neither used nor advocated violence. Amnesty International has championed the rights of prisoners of conscience since the organization’s founding in 1961, and thousands of prisoners of conscience have been released from jail following action on their behalf by Amnesty International. In short, Silanyo government made Somaliland a police state and at present, the imagine of Somaliland in the face of the international community running in its lowest level as a result of continuous illegal arrests which is violations of human dignity
