Syrian Democratic Forces recapture Jafra oil field after clashes with IS

Deir Ezzor (Syria News) Local sources informed, on Saturday, that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) managed to recapture Jafra oil field, northeast of the city of Deir Ezzor, from the Islamic State group, Qasioun News reported.

The sources revealed that the Syrian Democratic Forces were able to capture Jafra oil field, northeast of the city of Deir Ezzor, after fierce battles with the Islamic State militants.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) managed to recapture the area of Jafra oil field that exends from Koniko oil field northeast of Deir Ezzor, while the US-Led coalition aircraft carried out several air strikes on the Islamic State headquarters.

Meanwhile, the Islamic State militants conducted an extensive assault on the Syrian regime headquarters in several areas, in the Syrian Badiyah, in the countryside of Deir Ezzor and Homs, leaving dozens of casualties among the army forces.

It is noteworthy that the SDF militia has announced launching an offensive, codenamed “al-Jazeera Storm” on the 9th of September to drive out the Islamic State militants from the areas located northeast of the city of Deir Ezzor.
